影片裡，澤倫斯基總統用俄語說：「每個人都該去看2005年的電影【地球上的生靈】。」

隨後，歹徒逕自走出公車自首，警方立即上前將其制伏，車上所有人質安全釋放後，烏克蘭總統也隨即將影片刪除。

警方事後確認嫌犯為44歲的馬克西姆克瑞沃辛，曾因非法持有槍械等罪刑蹲過苦牢約十年。

2005年上映的紀錄片電影【地球上的生靈】(Earthlings)，由瓦昆菲尼克斯擔任旁白，該片透過隱藏式攝影機實地拍攝一些從事動物相關營利的大型企業每天例行性的作業實況。
