  • 　　出生於美國加州，父親為藝術工作者。畢業於加州大學洛杉磯分校（UCLA）歷史系的他，年輕便立志從事喜劇演出，並曾受聘為「珍妮麥卡錫秀」及大衛萊特曼的「深夜秀」撰寫劇本。2002年，他遷居紐約，以作家兼演員身份加入「周六夜現場」，成為極受歡迎的喜劇主持人。2015年，他以熱播影集「最後一個男人」（The Last Man on Earth）連續提名兩屆艾美獎、廣播影評人協會及編劇協會獎最佳男演員。2014年，更以美國名導亞歷山大潘恩提名奧斯卡及金球獎的電影【內布拉斯加】，提名美國獨立精神獎最佳男配角，並勇奪美國國家影評人協會最佳男配角獎。

簡介

歐德曼生長在藍領家庭，曾經被學校退學，而後進入演藝學校就讀。1981年他開始參加電影劇及舞臺劇表演，並於1986年獲頒最佳演員及新人獎。隔年在電影處女作【席德與南茜】中飾演嗑藥的搖滾龐克青年，又奪一座最佳新人獎，而他也是少數能夠表現美式腔調的英國演員。拍完【吸血鬼】後，蓋瑞並擔任坎城影展評審，在影壇地位已受肯定。曾經與女星烏瑪舒曼有短暫的婚姻關係。2001年他演出了【人魔】，也接演了賣座大片諸如【哈利波特】與【黑暗騎士】系列電影等，戲路亦正亦邪，常是各大電影中不可或缺的角色。
