簡介
縱橫英國電影界與戲劇界多年。其父是精神科醫生，但他在7歲便開始演舞臺劇，長大後入倫敦皇家戲劇學院就讀。畢業後參加皇家莎士比亞劇團，巡迥歐洲演了不少戲，也得過不少獎。1968年演出首部電影【仲夏之夢】，直至十年後因【異形】而打入國際影壇。1981年【火戰車】中的教練一角使他同時獲得英國影藝學院獎和坎城影展的最佳男配角獎。千禧年後他也接演多部賣座大片，包括【魔戒】系列、【明天過後】、【神鬼玩家】、以及為【料理鼠王】配音等等。
