  • 出生在墨爾本。1992年澳大利亞國家戲劇藝術學院畢業後，加入雪梨劇團，1993年以優異的演技獲得影評人協會羅斯蒙獎。接著演出幾部電視影集，同樣受到好評。1997年獲得澳州電影學會學院獎和澳洲影評人協會獎。1998年主演歷史傳記片【伊莉莎白】，她對伊莉莎白女皇一世的詮釋，為她贏得當年金球獎最佳女主角以及廣播影評人協會最佳女主角獎，並獲奧斯卡最佳女主角提名。之後又分別以【醜聞筆記】、【搖滾啟示錄】、【藍色茉莉】入圍奧斯卡最佳女主角獎，並以【藍色茉莉】封后。【魔戒三部曲】中的精靈女王凱蘭崔爾是她最為知名的角色之一。

　　出生於英國諾丁漢，13歲時離開普通學校進入中央青年電視工作室接受表演訓練。在演出幾部成功的電視迷你影集之後，1997年演出首部電影【Under the Skin】即獲得波士頓影評人協會頒發的最佳女主角獎，之後也曾以伍迪艾倫導演的【甜蜜與卑微】和吉姆謝利登導演的【前進天堂】分別入圍奧斯卡最佳女主角獎項。
