　　出生於英國諾丁漢，13歲時離開普通學校進入中央青年電視工作室接受表演訓練。在演出幾部成功的電視迷你影集之後，1997年演出首部電影【Under the Skin】即獲得波士頓影評人協會頒發的最佳女主角獎，之後也曾以伍迪艾倫導演的【甜蜜與卑微】和吉姆謝利登導演的【前進天堂】分別入圍奧斯卡最佳女主角獎項。
